This year was a green Christmas. Indianapolis had a few snow storms the week before Christmas, but by Christmas Day it was all melted.
We spent Christmas Eve day preparing food for our Wigilia celebration with the Barnaby family. Wigilia is what the Poles call Christmas Eve. Krystiana made dill bread. Eliza made a fantastic chocolate roll for dessert. We also had pierogi, barszcz (beet soup), bigos (Polish cabbage stew), and various salads.
After eating, we sang Christmas carols with the Barnabys. Jacob, Krystiana and Eliza all take piano lessons from Mrs. Shuck, and they all played carols so we could sing along. They are improving every year, and it is especially noticeable at Christmas.
On Christmas Day we exchanged gifts along with Dave’s Mom. It is so special that the girls are growing up with the memory of having a Grandmother live with them, and share the holidays.
We took a walk to Monument Circle in the afternoon, as it was a beautiful, 45-degree day. We spent the afternoon playing games – Ticket to Ride USA, and Cranium. The evening we watched one of our new DVDs, and then went to bed.
The end of another perfect Christmas. We are so blessed to be all together for the holiday.

I came over via Joe Hadley’s blog. I met Ginger at a One-Room Schoolhouse trip a while ago.
I haven’t had a pierogi in a long time! Sounds yummy! We’ve been playing a lot of Ticket to Ride ourselves.
Have fun with your new blog!

Angel,
I remember you from that field trip! Not many people know about Ticket to Ride. We have the Europe and Switzerland versions as well, and like to play them all!
Thanks for checking out our new blog. I’m a novice at this.
